Step 1

Visit desktop.vdi.uq.edu.au and download the Windows vWorkspace client.

Step 2

  1. Navigate to the downloads folder on your computer.
  2. Double-click the file in order to run the installer.
  3. If you receive a User Account Control pop-up as shown below, select Yes.

Step 3

When the installation wizard opens, select Next.

Ensure the I accept the terms in the license agreement option is selected, then click Next.

Enter your UQ username and enter UQ in the organization field. Click Next.

Click Next.

Click Next

The software should then install, as shown below.

Click Finish

 

Step 4

Double-click the vWorkspace icon on your Desktop to run the software. 

Step 5

Enter the Website address as shown below, then click the arrow (next) button.

Step 6

If you are on-campus and on the UQ network, select UQ VDI Internal. Otherwise, select UQ VDI External. Then click Connect

Step 7

Enter your UQ username and password, and ensure the domain says 'uq'. Click Save Credentials, then click OK.

Step 8

Select the machine that you wish to launch. Depending on your account, you may only have 1 machine available.

Alternative Connection Method

Navigate to https://desktop.vdi.uq.edu.au and login with your UQ username and password.

  1. Ensure that the Applications tab is selected
  2. Select the machine that you wish to run

Note: Depending on your current Windows version, the machines may only run via the Internet Explorer web browser.

This will download a file to your downloads folder. The file will be named something like "UQ+Student+Pool+1nsacwri0ojus0d4lqvrtvjxz.pit". Double-click this file to start the virtual computer, or click it from the Downloads bar in your web browser.
